UCHINO is a historic Japanese textile manufacturer founded in 1937. The company was established in Tokyo, Japan, on 8 July 1947.
A textile house with a long history
UCHINO's official history records 1937 as the year it began as a textile business. In 1947, Uchino Shoten Co., Ltd. was established.
In 1950, UCHINO says it was the first in Japan to make jacquard towels with names woven into them. In 1955, it launched what the company describes as the world's first printed towels.
From towels to everyday textiles
UCHINO's corporate profile lists towels, bathrobes, pyjamas, bed linen, baby products, lounging clothes, slippers, mats and other textile items among the products it handles.
Materials and touch
